My Path of Kundalini
I come to sit with the gentle giant, the king of the forest, the majestic, wise, old Oak. Starting life as a tiny acorn, from this humble beginning the potential to grow into something magnificent. Holding the blueprint for greatness, the essence of life emerging and thriving.
The little acorn can take up to two months or longer to sprout and then it can take up to twenty - fifty years to mature, and only then can it produce more acorns and continue the cycle. An Oak under the age of 100 is considered young!! Oak brings the medicine of slowing down, taking our time, there’s no rush, what’s the hurry!!? Nature has her own timeline and achieving greatness takes patience, steady progress, belief and trust in the process. Holding intention and vision strong, feeling our midline our Sushumna in perfect alignment, energy free flowing, our arc line clear and strong, while being soft in our heart and open to adapt and change our course if needed, while feeling our embodied, grounded roots supporting and anchoring us, fully resourced and at ease with all that unfolds. The wisdom of creating space to be, to come into the body, into the intelligence of the body and listening, really listening to what the body has to say. Becoming aware of one self in each moment, each movement, each breath. Taking time to slow down, stretching out, a deep indulgent breath, the nervous system in gratitude for this sacred pause. The life giving inhale fully experienced from a place of deep knowing, trust and openness to being with all that is. Surrendering, and within this space of just Be-ing, of slowing down, of receiving, of deep listening, all is revealed!! The circle of cyclical ebb and flow, the cycle of life, reminding us of our impermanence and of our regenerative powers, nothing ever dies its only energy that transforms, rebirthing into something new. The inner knowing of truth, the reconnection back to the innate wisdom of the body. As we move through these cycles within our life, the body knows the way. Trusting the impulse and the discomfort as she finds a new course. I’m experiencing this in the most beautiful and challenging way as I navigate the menopause. My body changing how she works, as hormones that have done their job step away and in this process my body feeling a sense of who is leading us now. It’s like the conductor has left! But the body is wise and knowing, as she adjusts, giving way for a deeper sense of self empowerment to rise, whereby there is no conductor, there is no other that is telling her what to do. She is her own director, I am my own director !!! Each part of her, of me, is now the Sovereign, the wise Crone, whole and complete. Working together in new ways to produce what i need. I have everything within me… The great Oak so deeply rooted, through the knowing that to expand up we need to expand down, this mirroring of above so below. Giving time and space to fully experience and embody what it means to root, to anchor and grow down into Mother Earth, connecting and being with the earth and our foundations and then feeling fully supported, resourced and nourished, so strong in our center, so regulated that we stand in our power from a place of nurturing heart-centred love. Wisdom that comes from experience, embodied and grounded within each moment, each breath, each heartbeat. From here giving way to grow upwards, reaching for the skies and awakening, unlocking the untapped potential that exists within us all. Oak offers the medicine of self reflection. Seeing the mirror in others, our own behaviours reflected back to us. Giving opportunity for growth through looking at our own projections, triggers and shadows, by working with the unconscious mind to uncover the parts of ourself that we repress and hide from ourselves. This can include trauma or parts of our personality that we subconsciously consider undesirable. Then rather than make the other wrong we acknowledge that what we see in the other is ultimately a part of us. This can be through shadow work, owning our projections, behaviours, parts maybe that we perceive as being undesirable, or it can also be the golden shadow, seeing something in someone else that we wish to be but haven’t had the courage to step into! Oak can support us with all of these potential complex dynamics. For me Oak brings balance, as above so below! Oaks branches expanding up one with Father Sky, Oaks roots growing down one with Mother Earth. The divine feminine and divine masculine as one, Unity! Standing in the centre of the medicine wheel, connecting out to all the other trees like a parent watching over their family and providing a biodiverse community. So grateful for the wisdom of the wise old Oak Blessings Theresa
