Usui Reiki & Karuna Reiki
Theresa is a Usui Reiki & Karuna Reiki® Master teacher in Falmouth Cornwall. She has been a Reiki Practitioner since 2006. Dave Sowden is her Usui Reiki Master and she was lucky enough to complete the ITEC Reiki course, which meant a full year practising and gaining lots of experience with Reiki and the effects and benefits it can bring, of which for her there have been many. In 2009 she did the Reiki Master Teacher Diploma, passing on the teachings, attuning and supporting others on their path is a gift Theresa truly cherishes. 2011 she was then guided to carry on her training and do Karuna Reiki, again she was blessed to have the opportunity to do her training with William Lee Rand at Glastonbury and to actually have her master attunement within Stonehenge, an experience she will never forget.

Reiki, pronounced "ray-key," is a Japanese energy healing technique that promotes balance, relaxation, and overall well-being by clearing energetic blockages and enhancing the flow of universal life force energy. Developed by Mikao Usui in the 1920s, Reiki involves a practitioner channeling energy through light touch or hand placement above the recipient's body.
As a holistic practice, Reiki addresses the whole person, mind, body, emotions, and spirit. By channeling this universal energy, practitioners aim to stimulate the body's natural healing processes, fostering harmony, joy, and peace, and helping to restore balance.
It's important to note that Reiki is not a religion and does not require adherence to any specific beliefs. There are no creeds or dogmas associated with Reiki; however, engaging with its practices can lead to greater spiritual awareness and a deeper understanding of one's life purpose.
The gentle energy of Reiki complements all forms of therapy and can be safely used alongside conventional treatments and therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery. While it should not replace medical care, Reiki can serve as a supportive modality in a comprehensive healing plan.
Learning Reiki is accessible to everyone, regardless of race, religion, or background. Its effectiveness is not dependent on one's intellectual capacity or spiritual development. The ability to channel Reiki is conferred through an "attunement" process conducted by a Reiki Master, enabling individuals to tap into an unlimited supply of life force energy to enhance health and quality of life.
Reiki offers a natural, holistic approach to healing that supports the body's innate ability to restore balance and well-being. Whether experienced through a certified practitioner or by learning to practice oneself, Reiki serves as a valuable tool for personal growth and healing.
"Dr. Mikao Usui, the founder of the Reiki system of natural healing, included some Reiki Ideals to the practice of Reiki, to help bring spiritual balance. The Ideals came in part from the five principles of the Meiji emperor of Japan. Their purpose is to help people realise that healing the spirit by consciously deciding to improve oneself is a necessary part of the Reiki healing experience. In order for the Reiki healing energies to have lasting results, the client must accept responsibility for her or his healing and take an active part in it. Therefore, the Usui system of Reiki is more than the use of the Reiki energy. It must also include an active commitment to improve oneself in order for it to be a complete system. The ideals are both guidelines for living a gracious life and virtues worthy of practice for their inherent value. “ - Reiki.org
A Reiki session usually lasts about 1 hour, each treatment is tailored to your needs and can include the use of crystals. After a treatment you can relax with a herbal tea. Energy exchange is £50.
